Our *** Hotel Obertor is located in the heart of Ravensburg’s historical Old Town. It is a small hotel with amazing unique features. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience you can wander through our 700-year-old building and find all kinds of features from the previous centuries. TRADITION

In 2021, we will celebrate 130 years of the family-run Hotel Obertor. For more than 4 generations, the Vesenmaier family has always proudly taken care of guests with passion. Even if the demands and desires have changed, our hospitality has remained the same: we have always provided a relaxing and special stay that will certainly remain in our guest’s memories.

HISTORY

The building was originally built in the 13th century and in the following centuries the remaining floors were expanded. Since 1891, the Obertor has been under the ownership of the Vesenmaier family and operated as a “Tor-Bäck” (bakery) and a small wine tasting room – that was popular with regular and frequent guests. Over the years, the building developed from the “Tor-Bäck“, into a popular inn and the current Hotel Obertor.

FLAIR

The special atmosphere of our small city hotel has developed with the benefit of 700 years of hindsight and is nowadays not easily replicated. With every step taken in our house, you can feel the history and are transported to the past. Gothic ceilings, ancient vaults, valuable and unique objects from every era give an idea of what these walls have experienced.

    Das außergewöhnliche Ambiente, die Freundlichkeit des Personals, das reichhaltige Frühstück, die Sauberkeit, die individuelle und besondere Einrichtung der Zimmer, sowie die Lage sind absolut empfehlenswert!
